Hello!
I am Deniz
Welcome! I have some super cool things to share with you. However, due to privacy concerns and the intellectual property rights of the company I've worked for, I can't reveal the processes behind the product design solutions. But you can certainly see the results.
Teem Workshop
We designed and delivered a workshop for participants from various disciplines, introducing them to design thinking methodologies and tools for application in their future projects and works.

The Teem Workshop is specifically designed to teach the importance of teamwork and how to develop creative leadership skills to undergraduate students from various disciplines. It aims to provide them with the tools and knowledge necessary to excel in collaborative environments and to cultivate leadership qualities that inspire innovation and effective teamwork.
Through interactive activities, design thinking tools and guided discussions, students learned the fundamentals of working effectively in diverse teams and how to lead these teams towards achieving common goals.
This book presents design thinking as a collaborative process that combines designers' skills and methods to meet people's needs in a way that is technically feasible and commercially viable. It emphasizes a human-centered approach to problem-solving, aimed at fostering innovation and creativity by transforming needs into demand.
As design thinkers, we are experienced in using the Double Diamond method. Learning about the inspiration, ideation, and implementation methods that IDEO uses throughout their projects has enlightened us as designers while creating interactive, creative workshops.

Considering design development through this lens mirrors the approach of the Double Diamond model. It enables us to structure our project development effectively. By employing research, ideation, and idea refinement through testing, prototyping, and peer feedback, we can craft projects that are thoroughly considered and broadly effective. We continuously seeked inspiration, developed our ideas, and then implemented them, engaged in prototyping and refinement throughout the process.

While designing our workshop, we employed design thinking tools for each process, prototyping within our group to ensure a smooth and engaging experience.

BASE KNOWLEDGE
DEPTH KNOWLEDGE
T shaped designer
We delivered two workshops focused on leadership and culture. Following an engaging icebreaker session on speed sketching, participants sketched the person next to them, sharing the portraits to foster connection.
We then introduced the concept of the 'T-shaped designer,' guiding participants to create their own T-shapes. This exercise aimed to help them understand their broad and deep knowledge areas, enabling effective positioning within their teams.

After identifying their T-shaped skills, we asked participants to reflect on the five key attributes of an effective team. The top three attributes were then added to a large star, representing clusters of skills. Participants clustered their top three skills within this star as a group metaphor, enabling them to recognize their strengths and how to apply these in teamwork.

Besides observing and assisting participants as needed, I introduced and presented the 'Rose-Thorn-Bud' reflection tool, a design thinking method. I encouraged participants to share their reflections on the workshop through an interactive Padlet platform. Additionally, I facilitated a 'Mentimeter' interactive quiz to engage participants, ensuring the session was enjoyable and fun. Finally, I collected feedback on the interactive platform to understand participants' perspectives and identify areas for improvement."

While designing Workshop 2, we applied the same processes and utilized design thinking tools, incorporating feedback gathered from the first workshop to enhance the experience.

We prototyped each activity planned for the workshop, refining our design based on these trials before finalizing.
We also prototyped our creative matrix, introducing it as a structured tool for generating ideas within the design thinking framework. We encouraged participants to cluster their ideas on creative matrix templates, which consist of eight matrices, each representing a different category such as sustainability, education, art & culture.

One of our activities featured the sailboat retrospective, a design thinking tool that offers a creative and fun way to reflect on work using sailing metaphors. Participants were asked to reflect on their past teamwork experiences using a sailboat template included in designed passports we provided.
I was tasked with introducing 'How might we' statements as an idea generation technique, along with the creative matrix.
I demonstrated how these elements could be engaged and utilized together within the creative matrix template to generate structured ideas.

As a final stage, just like at the first workshop, we utilized 'Mentimeter' interactive quiz to engage participants, ensuring the session was enjoyable and fun. Finally, we collected feedback on the interactive platform to understand participants' perspectives.
